Rat Snakes

Elaphe Obsoleta

Elaphe Obsoleta...one of North America's true giants.
Specimens of this species have attained lengths approaching 8 feet.
I work with a few different subspecies of this massive constrictor
and I have a couple of interesting projects in the works.

Alabaster white with black / blue eyes. These are striking animals.
My stock produces very few "bug-eyes". The animals listed are the cream of the crop.

A close cousin to the Cornsnake. These heavy bodied animals are varying shades of gray or grayish green.
Not widely found in collections but gaining in popularity.

A bright yellow and white albino that is responsible for this species renewed popularity.

A metallic looking animals in flashing shades of blue orange and green. These animals have become very popular in recent years.

When these first hit the market they were referred to as Amels. Now, the taxonomy is leaning more toward a form of hypomelanism.
Whichever it turns out to be, they are absolutely stunning. When the light hits them they are a rainbow of colors.
I produce very few, so inquire early.

This is a project that I began working on several years ago. It all stems from one animal i picked up in a trade.
They resemble rusty rats but most have red eyes. They are the basis for my Lavender Black Rat bloodline.

One of my oldest projects, but one I never get tired of. Coral pink and cream animals that grow to six feet plus.

Gleaming white sides with a speckled black stripe down the back. Gee...they look like a licorice stick.

I have seen other breeders list Lavender Black Rats but they do not look anything like these.
This seems to function as a simple recessive and popped out of my Hypo line.
I will have a limited number of these available this season.
I plan on posting a page dedicated to these two morphs with multiple pictures in the near future.
